Overwhelmed....

My Mom Would Be Great For This

My mom is really proud of me to be going back to school and always tell me that she wishes she could do it and she has been thinking about going to college for as long as I can remember. I think that she would be good at trying for classes online and especially in medical assistant courses. She does something similar at her current job working at a nursing home. This probably would be good since she would be able to be at home and taking her classes when she is able to especially since she works a full time job. She would also be able to get her Medical Assistant Certificate within 6 to 8 weeks. She would learn things such as medical terminology, patient communication, medical billing and insurance claims and other things required for the course. Since she would be doing this online, she could also do her medical clinical labs right from her computer.

St. Augustine School of Medical Assistance is the college that would offer this opportunity to her. What I thought was also cool is that she could get a discount on the tuition fee if she knows someone that would like to take online classes as well. It's close to a $200 discount from an already low tuition fee of $645. She also would be able to register online quickly and get started right away on her path to becoming a non traditional student, like me =) But if anyone else is looking to get into this career path then you should have a look at this medical assistant school.

What Celebrity Does Your Instructor Remind You Of?

Have you ever had an instructor that put you in mind of a celebrity or someone that you may know or have known. My history instructor, from the first day of class, looks like Bill Nye, the Science Guy. lol. Do any of you know that show when it came on, I can't remember when, I know I was early in high school maybe then. But he just puts me in the mind of that person. All he needs is the white lab coat and there you go. I guess you can call the instructor Bill Nye, the History Guy.

So who all has a celebrity instructor on your campus?

Need to Buckle Down in Statistics

So I found out that I'm not doing well in Statistics. I mean not well at all, I have a D in that class so far. Yeah, I was surprised to, but I can see why. The first test we had I didn't do well at all and it was an open book, open note test. Also we only had two assignments that were given to us that needed to be turned in and that's it. I know one of the assignments I got an A, but I'm not sure what I got on my second assignment. So the rest of the rest of this week up until Tuesday night, I am going to take my time to do the test that we have to turn in on Wednesday nights class. I didn't know I was doing so terrible.... ugh.

On another note, I am making a C in history class at the moment, but I don't know what I made for my Accounting I class right now, hopefully a passing one. Monday is when classes start back up and I will be in Immediate Accounting I, another fast track class and hopefully the instructor will be lively as the other one.

Increase Your Vocabulary

I thought this was something kind of cool and help in maybe writing essays and papers or even just to know new vocabulary. Remember in my other post where I say that I don't like writing much, I think it could be because that I feel as though I don't have a growing vocabulary I guess, therefore I tend to use the same words over and over. It would also help me with meaning of words as well. I saw this vocabulary software online at Vocaboly.com that can help students and there is even a free trial to try it out. It's also nice that it works with newer and older operation systems on your computer such as Windows 98 to Vista.

I Don't Think I Did Well....

I don't think I did well at all on my midterm in history class or for my exam in accounting. I hope that my assignments and other tests in accounting will at least get me a C for the course. As for history, I'm not even sure what I'm making in the class. Things here at home have gotten to where it's hard for me to concentrate on what I need to do for my classes at times. I hope that it has not effected me to much to where I may become even more stressed.

I have to wait until Monday, I think, until I can see what my grades will be for those two classes.

Suggested Ipod Music....

When I'm at the library doing homework, researching, or just passing a bit of time between classes I usually have my Ipod in my ear to listen to my music. I get bored though kind of quickly and try seek out new songs that are out when I get the chance. (I'm not up to date on what's out at the moment though). Whatever I find, I go to Half Price iTunes to get some of the music which they have up to 80% iTunes discount, which is cool. And what music I get from the website, I can actually save them on iTunes successfully. What's even cool is that since I take my laptop with me to campus, I can still listen to my music if I happen to forget my Ipod.

So what kind of music would you suggest I could get on the next round when I want to change up on my Ipod. I can listen to anything really like R&B, Pop, 70s, 80s, 90s music. Anything that can me bobbing my head to while I'm doing homework or even to wind down to when I get home. If any of you decide to check out the site, I think it's well worth it because you can get 80% off on iTunes!.

Accounting Test, Exam, Midterms and a Parking Ticket

So starting on a happy note, I got a B on the third test in accounting. I had a huge grin on my face, I couldn't believe that I made a B. Everyone in class did well, there weren't any complaints so that ended my night on a good note. I have the exam on Wednesday night along with a project due on the same night in accounting. There is a midterm for History on Tuesday night and then a take home test that will be given to us in Statistics to be done over the fall break.

On the other hand, the same night, I ended up getting a parking ticket on campus. I parked in the designated area, didn't do a speeding violation, didn't park out of line or anything. I got it because my vehicle isn't registered, I guess to use on campus. Over the summer I had to get a new tag and wasn't able to make it to the CCE check-in when they had it at the beginning of August, but I knew that I had to get it registered. You know how things go, a lot of stuff on your mind and plate and a few things just slip. Well I will be paying a big $100 for that slip. I didn't make it in time before the office closed to do so on Thursday, so hopefully Tuesday I can get there early enough to get that done. It's funny though, the one area that I don't normally park in is where I get the ticket. The two areas that I do park out, all the time where I normally just pull into a space, I never gotten a ticket (knock on wood).....
