I'm Still Here

I haven't went away or anything, just been busy with a lot of things. There are only like 3 1/2 more weeks of school left for me this semester and it's going to be a busy 3 1/2 weeks. Tons of papers to write, test to do and then exams. With the Thanksgiving break that is coming up too, those weeks are going to go by even quicker. I'm steadily trying to bring up my grade in Statistics to a C. The instructor is assigning more homework assignments to help us out a bit from low test scores that we all are bringing in. My Immediate Accounting I class is ok. I just have to practice the homework assignments that are given, although my first test I didn't do so hot on. I even spent the entire week doing the test before it had to be turned in. I took my time and went through my notes and textbook that we were able to use and still didn't do well. I just have to try harder.

Registration for Spring 2009 classes started this past Monday. I went to my advisor and got what I needed for registering online, although I still have to pay for my parking ticket before I can register for my classes. Trying to do little extra jobs online is what is also keeping me busy so that I can get some extra money for that. Hopefully I will be able to pay it Monday *crossing fingers* So next semester, I'm planning to take only 3 classes to still keep my full time status, but also so that I don't feel overloading and overwhelmed like I was this semester. This weekend I have another take home test to do for Statistics to finish up, a letter to write to an imaginary CEO for my accounting class and then some reading for my history class. I'm planning to get started on my assignments later tonight when the kids, including hubby, are asleep so that I can concentrate on what I need to do.

Need to Buckle Down in Statistics

So I found out that I'm not doing well in Statistics. I mean not well at all, I have a D in that class so far. Yeah, I was surprised to, but I can see why. The first test we had I didn't do well at all and it was an open book, open note test. Also we only had two assignments that were given to us that needed to be turned in and that's it. I know one of the assignments I got an A, but I'm not sure what I got on my second assignment. So the rest of the rest of this week up until Tuesday night, I am going to take my time to do the test that we have to turn in on Wednesday nights class. I didn't know I was doing so terrible.... ugh.

On another note, I am making a C in history class at the moment, but I don't know what I made for my Accounting I class right now, hopefully a passing one. Monday is when classes start back up and I will be in Immediate Accounting I, another fast track class and hopefully the instructor will be lively as the other one.

Accounting Test, Exam, Midterms and a Parking Ticket

So starting on a happy note, I got a B on the third test in accounting. I had a huge grin on my face, I couldn't believe that I made a B. Everyone in class did well, there weren't any complaints so that ended my night on a good note. I have the exam on Wednesday night along with a project due on the same night in accounting. There is a midterm for History on Tuesday night and then a take home test that will be given to us in Statistics to be done over the fall break.

On the other hand, the same night, I ended up getting a parking ticket on campus. I parked in the designated area, didn't do a speeding violation, didn't park out of line or anything. I got it because my vehicle isn't registered, I guess to use on campus. Over the summer I had to get a new tag and wasn't able to make it to the CCE check-in when they had it at the beginning of August, but I knew that I had to get it registered. You know how things go, a lot of stuff on your mind and plate and a few things just slip. Well I will be paying a big $100 for that slip. I didn't make it in time before the office closed to do so on Thursday, so hopefully Tuesday I can get there early enough to get that done. It's funny though, the one area that I don't normally park in is where I get the ticket. The two areas that I do park out, all the time where I normally just pull into a space, I never gotten a ticket (knock on wood).....

WooHoo, Got a C

A low C is what I got on my second test in accounting. I know I could have done a bit better especially on one part of the test where I knew I should have studied a bit more on. But I'm happy that I did understand what I was suppose to do a little bit more on this one and watching an accounting lecture on YouTube, helped me out some too. Have you every looked on YouTube as a study guide other than watch the dog riding on a skate board..lol. That is what I did an came upon an instructor that went through the chapters and did example problems. Although my instructor is clear on his lectures and doing problems, I just needed a refresher on some things. So check that out next time to see there is a video that can help out with your school work.

My statistics test..... well I did at least pass. There are two more weeks left before the fall break and I am ready for my brain to rest some. Today, I woke up with a cold that the kids had earlier this week, so I think I will stay home from class today since it isn't much that I will miss from my history class. I think sitting in the cold buildings and then since fall is upon us, walking around on campus in the cold, windy air at night isn't going to help me. So hopefully I will get some rest this weekend since I don't have much work to do for my classes.

And the Grade Was....

For my accounting test, not a good one, even when the instructor based it on a 10 point scale of the grades like 100-90 is an A, so forth and so on. I was one point from a very low C if I'm calculating it right. The good news is that he will allow us to take the test over if we feel as though it wasn't our best work and that grade can replace the one we got on this test. So I am debating about it. The highest I am allowed to make on it is a 75, so that would be a B. I guess I should go ahead and try to get a better grade on it. I hate falling below a C on things when I know the information. Just looking back through the test it was mostly a few points here and there from where I may have switched things around and the multiple choice hurt me too. It was mainly on definitions kind of. So Monday is when I can take it over, then there is another test that is due at the end of Tuesday night that I have to take for my Accounting class. So that means I have to do a ton of studying this weekend.

I had a take home test and a in class test in my statistics class. We were able to use our notes and textbooks for the take home text and then notes for the in class text. I get the jist of figuring out the problems that are given to me, but when it comes to explaining what it all means, then forget about. So I know there will be points off of that part that needed explaining... sigh. I have one more test for Accounting and then an exam for that class, then it will be on to Immediate Accounting I. At least I won't have to worry about buying anymore textbooks for the next few accounting classes since they will be using the same book.

Another draft essay is due today for my HP: History 101 class in which I finished doing not to long ago. My whole intention was to do it bit by bit, but I didn't know which essay question to do, then didn't really know how to approach and when trying to do it late, late last night.. conflict aroused about so I put it off until this morning. Did I mention, I don't like to write papers... lol. Comprehending literature is not my thing. Give me a few math problems or some science/chemistry questions and I will work that out to death. lol.

It's almost TGIF... woohoo.

Don't You Hate It...

That when it's time to take a test and you have all the information in your head.. you just know what to do or what to say for a question and all of a suddenly, it's like you didn't study at all. What's even worse is that you are able to use your notes or the textbook itself and still can't answer the question... ugh. That is what is going on with my Statisitcs. I know what I'm suppose to be doing, but to explain it, its difficult. The answer probably can be found so easily, maybe, in the book or my notes, but I'm not finding it. Well, all I can say is that I did my best on it, hopefully.

The Accounting instructor is suppose to give our test back on Monday from last week. I'm anxious to see what I got. I know I practiced as much as I could for example problems and took notes. Toward the end of the test though, the information wouldn't write out on the page though. So I know there will be quite a few points taken off, but at least I tried to show a bit of work of what I was trying to do to answer the question. Crossing fingers.....

Fast Track Class = Saturday Class

Since I'm taking fast track classes, they have it to where you would have to come in on a Saturday to sort of "make up" the hours that a regular class would have through the semester. Today was a 4 hour class of Accounting, but luckily for us the instructor didn't keep us for that long. I know I will dread the next Saturday class which is next month or November, can't remember off hand, but it's for my next accounting class, Immediate Accounting I and that is a fast track class as well which will be for 6 hours. Oh I hope it won't last that long if the that instructor will be merciful.

The class has test to do for the class that we can take anytime and turn it in before Thursday morning. I went ahead and took it because I knew trying to do it late at night wasn't going to work for me. I think I should have studied a bit more, well actually should have studied as I wasn't to sure about the last part of the test. Hopefully I will make a decent grade on it.
